Tip 1: Don't expect perfection
If you set yourself up for perfection, you are guaranteed to fail! Understand that every homeschooling family is different, and they all have different goals. Do the best for your children!
Tip 2: Find your community
You shouldn't expect to homeschool on your own. Consider a co-op, hybrid program, tutors, or a regular meet up. This can be a lonely path. so be sure you have support!
Tip 3: Know how many hours to plan
– Pre-K: 1 hour – Kindergarten: 1-3 hours – 1st and 2nd: 2-4 hours – 3rd/4th/5th: 3-6 hours – Middle School: 4-6 hours – High School: 4-8 hours
Tip 4: Make time for yourself
Homeschooling moms do it all! They educate, cook, clean, and maybe even work from home. Be sure to carve out time for yourself so that you don't become too overwhelmed.
Tip 5: Get outside
Homeschooling has it in the name- home! And while you will be at home a lot, be sure to also plan for time outside, and in your community. This is a great refresher for everyone!
Savor the time! The time with your child goes by fast. From birth to graduation, you have 940 weeks with your child. Enjoy every moment!
