Florida Staycation at Beautiful Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek
I don’t know about you, but our family could use some relaxation lately. With the loss of our family dog, the start of school, sports, activities, and trying to be safe and healthy through it all, we all have a lot on our plate. We were so grateful that Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek invited us to stay at their property so that we could share our experience with you!
Even if it’s not physically exhausting to deal with 2020, it’s mentally exhausting! And perhaps you don’t feel comfortable traveling far from home. If that’s the case, and you call the Sunshine State home, a Florida staycation might be just what you need to rejuvenate. Staying at the beautiful Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek for our Florida staycation was the perfect way for our family to reconnect. And if you’re up for some travel, Florida is ready to welcome you with open arms and freshly sanitized spaces!
Florida Staycation Rest and Relax
There are a lot of safety concerns about traveling lately. While our family does feel comfortable traveling, we also love staying in Orlando. It’s amazing how different the day can seem when you go just 30 minutes down the road. At the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, it feels like you’re in a tropical paradise. With a lazy river, water slide, beautiful lobby and guest rooms, and world class golf, it feels like we’ve gone a world away from the suburbs.
Although we’ve all been spending a lot of time together, when you’re at home, there can feel like there’s a never ending to do list waiting. When you’re at a hotel or on vacation, suddenly it’s like nothing else matters but splashing in the lazy river together. It’s magical! And we all need that time to take a break from our responsibilities and worries, and just be.
Hilton CleanStay at Orlando Bonnet Creek
Where you let your children sleep at night is of the utmost importance. When you choose a hotel and tuck your children in at night, you want to be assured that where they are sleeping meets the highest cleanliness standards. For that reason, we were so comforted by the Hilton CleanStay program during our recent Florida staycation!
What is Hilton CleanStay?
Creating a safe and comfortable environment is critically important to us. We are meticulously following the protocols set forth through the Hilton CleanStay program, including industry-leading hygiene standards, sealed guest room, social distancing, table spacing and contact-free menus in our restaurants and safe service including team members wearing face coverings and gloves throughout the resort. For more information visit www.hilton.com/cleanstay
In our guest rooms, it was so amazing to see that it had been sealed prior to our arrival! When we opened the door for the first time in each of our rooms, we broke the seal. This showed that we were the first people to enter the room since the extensive cleaning process. Talk about reassurance! We had connecting rooms, which were perfect for our large family of seven. The guest rooms were all recently renovated and had a spacious, comfortable, and modern feel. We had beautiful Disney view rooms on the 18th floor, that also had gorgeous views of the pool and golf course. It was amazing to watch the Disney Skyliner go by from our room.
Florida Staycation Essentials: Pool and Cabana Experience
At Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, the pool deck has been reconfigured to provide for proper distancing of the pool chaise lounge chairs. The flags on the chairs indicates that a chair has been sanitized and is ready for guests. Chairs and tables are sanitized once a guest departs, in preparation to serve the next guest. I love this system and it seems like a great idea, no matter what virus is floating around!
We were treated to a private cabana during our stay at Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek. And it was such a lovely experience! The cabanas accommodate 8 people, include a fan, tv, 4 sodas, 4 waters, snack selection, and comfortable chairs. We also had two tubes to use in the lazy river! There are others readily available around the pool area. But it was nice to have two tubes of our own, ready for our use at any time.
When you rent a private cabana, you have use from 9 am – 7 pm. And our family used every minute of this time! That’s how much we enjoyed the pool area at Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek. We floated around the lazy river for hours. The kids went down the water slide over and over. And we enjoyed wonderful meals in our cabana and at the poolside restaurant, Beech. A Florida staycation would not be complete without a perfect pool day! And Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek is the perfect pool day location.
Dining at La Luce
On our first night at Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, we enjoyed a beautiful meal at La Luce. Did you know that this restaurant is ranked as the #2 restaurant in all of Orlando by TripAdvisor? That’s quite a recommendation so we couldn’t want to try it out!
In our family, we have vegetarians, pescatarians, meat eaters, and picky eaters. And at La Luce, there was something for everyone! The flat bread pizzas, cauliflower salad, and pesto pasta dish were some of our favorites. As a Mom, I was really impressed with the generous portions of the kid’s meals. And when you visit La Luce, you absolutely have to try the Butterscotch Pudding. It’s served with toffee on the side, and it was absolutely heavenly!
Of course, each of the dining outlets at Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek are following strict social distancing protocols, with tables appropriately spaced. Menus are delivered contact-free via QR codes. Single-use paper menus are also available, if preferred. La Luce offers outdoor patio dining if preferred. La Luce is currently open 5 days a week and reservations are highly suggested. Golf at Waldorf Astoria Golf Club
The Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek shares property with the Waldorf Astoria Orlando. So that means that you have access to some of the amenities at the Waldorf Astoria, like the golf club! In fact, anyone in the area can book a tee time at this gorgeous golf course.
My husband and sons love playing golf together. It’s something that they try to do in all of the places we visit. I love that I get to relax by the pool or in the room while they have fun together! So even though the weather wasn’t cooperating very well on the day of their tee time, they had a great time out on this beautiful course. Check out this description of the course from Waldorf Astoria Golf Club.
Using the land’s natural contours as a canvas and a fertile imagination as a palette, this meticulously designed course was created by acclaimed golf course architect Rees Jones. Our 18-hole masterpiece pulls in elements from several of the world’s classic courses – some designed a century ago. The layout ingeniously blends its traditional character with endless subtleties for a challenging experience. Mindful of the natural elements and in homage to the game’s storied history, Jones created a golf course of great integrity and environmental consciousness that seamlessly folds into the terrain, so it appears to have been here forever.
Visually stunning and immensely playable, our Par 72 golf course is enhanced by natural elements like majestic cypress trees lining the fairways and features a five-tee system to accommodate golfers of every caliber. The Waldorf Astoria Golf Club measures an impressive 7,108 yards from the Professional Tees and maintains a course rating of 74.6 and slope of 139.
Disney Perks at Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek
Did you know that Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek is part of Disney property? It’s just about a mile and a half from Disney Springs and the resort features complimentary transportation to and from the 4 theme parks and Disney Springs! You can even enjoy the benefit of being able to make Resort guest Park Reservations to gain entry to the Disney Parks during your stay at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek. This is a really valuable perk since a park reservation is now required to gain entry to Disney Parks, in addition to your purchased theme park ticket. There’s also an official Disney Store at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek. You can charge to your room but also use any Annual Passholder or DVC discounts you may have as part of your Disney account. This was such a great perk and it was so fun to pick up some little official Disney goodies with my kiddos.
