Cirque Du Soleil Orlando
Last weekend, we had the immense pleasure of attending La Nouba at Cirque Du Soleil Orlando, located at Disney Springs in Walt Disney World. This show has been running for 17 years, but this was my first opportunity to see it. It was the perfect way to celebrate my birthday weekend! We did not take any of the five kids, but I know the older ones would have enjoyed it. The younger ones might have found some parts too intense, but there were a lot of children in the audience.
My friend had found an amazing Florida resident deal online, so for our two tickets, the total was about $140 or so. When we can easily spend this much eating out with the whole family, this seemed like a no brainer! I had never seen any Cirque show in the past, so I really wasn’t sure what to expect. But from start to finish, the show was amazing. They did an excellent job of building and building in amazement and excitement, so what you think is unbelievable in the first act, pales in comparison to the final acts. But looking back, each and every performance and part of the show was amazing.
We had to pick up our tickets at Will Call, and that line went quickly and smoothly. The show started at 6 pm, but they preferred that the audience was seated by 5:45 pm. We went inside right away, got some overpriced snacks, and took our seats. For the price we paid, I wasn’t sure how great our seats would be, but they turned out to be some of the best in the house!
There was a short and entertaining pre-show while people were still finding their seats. And when the show started, it was such an amazing spectacle, you really didn’t know where to look first! There was live music, lights, smoke, and trapeze, bike, trampoline, and balancing acts. There really is no way to describe it unless you’ve seen a Cirque Du Soleil show in the past. It seems they specialize in doing things that humans shouldn’t or can’t normally do. After 17 years in Pleasure Island/Downtown Disney/Disney Springs, this show is closing on December 31. If you haven’t had the chance to see it in the past, make it a priority on your Walt Disney World or Orlando bucket list!
After the show, we headed over to the House of Blues Restaurant for dinner. This was such a perfect choice because we had reservations at 8 pm, right after the show ended at about 7:40 pm. Also, it was raining when La Nouba let out, and House of Blues is the absolute closest restaurant in Disney Springs to the theater. We checked in, and were seated within 10 minutes. The food was wonderful, our waiter was great, and the atmosphere was fun! It makes for a perfect ending to your evening, especially if walking or weather is a concern.
